The universe will end at exactly twice the age it is when it reaches equilibrium. Once the universe has expended all of it's energy in the form of heat, certain materials will begin to collapse. As time goes on, more and more stars collapse into black holes. Eventually, the universe will be made up of 50% black holes and 50% stars. At this point, the gravity of the black holes will eventually pull in more and more matter, strengthening the gravitational pull of the black holes. Eventually, these pulls will be great enough that other black holes will be pulled in as well. As time goes on (quintillions of years) the black holes will have swallowed everything in existence, further combining the masses of each other, until eventually there will be nothing but a single black hole - a singularity. Therefore, only one more possibility exists: Another Big Bang. Several billion years later, we will have an EXACT replica of our universe as we know it today because the process repeats with only one possible result, since the conditions are always the same.
